Are You an Advancing Guitarist ?
Would You Like to Become More Confident and Expressive?
Do you ever find yourself stuck, searching for the right chord voicing during improvisation, arranging, or composing?
You’re not alone.
In fact, that’s exactly why I created Guitar Voicing —an online reference dedicated to the often-overlooked art of harmony, voice leading, and chord voicing on the guitar.
Why This Matters
In most music schools, we get a wide, sometimes overwhelming, overview of harmony. But too often, guitar voicings are brushed aside—or taught as static shapes with little connection to melody or movement.
- We don’t learn how to place chord tones with meaning.
- We don’t learn how to connect chords to weave multiple independent lines.
- We don’t learn to treat the guitar as pianists do: as a harmonic playground.
That’s what Guitar Voicing is here to change

What Students Are Saying About my Approach
“Alessandro has pushed my abilities and opened many doors to a deeper level of understanding over the last three years. One of the great guitar players of his generation… His mentorship continues to inspire me.”
— Martin Goulding, International Guitar Educator, former Head of Guitar at ICMP London
“In just three months, I changed the way I play and interact with the guitar. I wrote a song using only voicings from the course. It was not easy—but it was transformative.”
— Armando Cenni, Songwriter
“Not just another seminar. These lessons literally reshaped how I see the guitar. A deep dive into harmonic exploration guided by a teacher who really understands the instrument.”
— Ivano Carta, Professional Guitarist
“Alessandro is like an inexhaustible mine. The more you dig, the more gold you find—and he helps you find yours too.”
— Pep Atz, Prog Guitarist
Where It All Began
This project grew organically from my 2019 seminar in Italy, “Voicing, Voice-Leading and Harmony for the Advancing Guitarist.”
I’ve spent decades studying harmony—from classical counterpoint to jazz theory, but the real turning point came in 1990, during a clinic with Mick Goodrick. That moment lit a fire in my understanding of the guitar as a harmonic instrument and beyond.
Then I started a research connecting Mick Goodrick and Ted Greene systems, but my method has evolved into its own form—deep, systematic, and designed to empower players like you.
A Few Words About Me

I am Alessandro Puddu, I’ve been teaching guitar and jazz harmony for over 35 years.
My mission is to help guitarists to connect with their creative source, develop flow, get unstuck, and discover their unique style.
If you’ve been searching for a richer connection to your instrument, your music, and yourself…Welcome to Guitar Voicing Community !
I don’t just teach harmony—I help you apply it musically, emotionally, and artistically, and possibly in your life.
Moreover, I’m happy to introduce my students to relaxation, mindfulness, visualisation and meditation techniques to enhance knowledge, creativity and mastery.
I think that playing the guitar is a journey of self-discovery. The way we play, our approach to the instrument and the music is a dynamic mirror of our views, about ourselves others, and the world.
